Lewis Hamilton recently expressed his excitement about the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix. The British racer recently shared numerous Brazilian flags on his X on Wednesday, repeating a similar post he made back in 2022.
Lewis Hamilton's special bond with Brazil
Lewis Hamilton has developed a unique bond with Brazil over the years in his F1 career. The seven-times world champion won his first drivers' title in the South American country back in 2008. He has also claimed that his biggest racing hero is the legendary Ayrton Senna.
In 2022, Hamilton was given an honorary Brazilian citizenship by the government, further deepening his connection with the country. That same year, the racer had also shared an X post that featured numerous Brazilian flags and no explanation.
the 40-year-old has now reshared this post ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix this year, posting a similar post on Wednesday, October 29. This post has even gone viral among F1 fans on social media, garnering more than 420,000 likes and 37,000 retweets within minutes.
Lewis Hamilton has won the Brazilian GP three times, in 2016, 2018, and 2021. The latest of these wins stand out the most as the experienced racer displayed his mastery by coming all the way from P10 to claim an important win in his bid for the 2021 drivers' championship at the time.
Now, Hamilton is going through a different phase of his career as the racer looks for his first win with Ferrari. He has not been able to secure a podium finish with the Italian team yet, let alone think of a P1 finish.
Hamilton is coming after a disappointing weekend in Mexico last time around, where his finished eight after being handed a 10-second penalty during the race. The Ferrari man started the race in third, but a battle with Max Verstappen left him with the aforementioned penalty as he registered another flop weekend in 2025.
