Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has shared that while there are no immediate plans for marriage with his partner, Kelly Piquet, he anticipates that it will happen soon. The couple, expecting their first child together in early 2025, recently announced the exciting December announcement.

A growing family and relationship milestones

Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, and Piquet, a Brazilian model, have been together since October 2020. The 36-year-old Piquet had previously been in a relationship with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she shares a daughter, Penelope. The pregnancy announcement marks a significant moment in their journey together as they prepare to welcome their second child.

While fans have speculated about a potential marriage for the couple, Verstappen offered only a vague response when questioned about the timing. "Not yet, but it will probably happen soon," Verstappen told Swiss outlet Blick, fueling the ongoing speculation surrounding their future plans.

Glowing pregnancy update on social media

Since the couple announced the pregnancy ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December, public updates have been few and far between. However, Piquet gave her followers a glimpse into her life during the festive period. She posted a radiant selfie while on a winter skiing holiday, which caught the attention of one follower who was also pregnant.

In the comments, the fan shared their admiration: “Not fair how pretty you are!! I’m currently pregnant in my first trimester and looking like I’m dying, and here you are pregnant and glowing and looking absolutely stunning.”

Piquet responded with words of encouragement and an update on her own pregnancy journey: "My first trimester was rough! I’m entering my third now! You got this.” This response confirmed that she is now around 28 weeks pregnant, which means the couple could be meeting their child in as little as 12 weeks.

Verstappen's Formula 1 goals and focus on 2025

Before the birth of his child, Verstappen will focus on defending his Formula 1 World Championship title. The Dutch driver will kick off the F1 2025 season in Melbourne, aiming for a fifth consecutive Drivers’ Championship. Despite his success, Verstappen knows he faces stiff competition, with Ferrari and McLaren emerging as favourites heading into the upcoming season.

“I don't have a crystal ball, but if we can fix certain weaknesses over the winter, we'll be back at the top,” Verstappen commented. “But I'm certainly not making a prediction here. Five teams should be fighting at the top. The weaknesses have been narrowed down. The necessary balance was often lacking because we simply couldn't get into the small temperature window. That means you end up wandering around a bit wildly.”
