On Wednesday, Red Bull introduced the race suits and helmets Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson will wear during the 2025 F1 season. The designs are for the most part unchanged compared to the previous season but have seen minor updates to sponsor placements; however, both drivers maintain their respective helmet colors. The two drivers are preparing for their first season as teammates at Red Bull Racing, based in Milton Keynes.

The design of the RB21 car will be kept under wraps until Tuesday when Red Bull tests its shakedown in Bahrain before the pre-season starts, which will be held on Wednesday.

New Helmet Designed by Verstappen in Honour of His Basic Defaults

This new helmet, which Verstappen shared on Instagram with the caption stating: "Let's go, 2025 season incoming," symbolizes a new look and also a journey from a karting prodigy to a four-time-world champion.

"There is helmet inspiration behind this at the age of four," Verstappen said while announcing it. There are some details that refer to my father, Jos Verstappen, from whom Max took quite a bit of signing of helmets. This is basically what I feel best symbolizes how I feel for my dad."

"This helmet design is basically similar to when I started racing, when I was four years old. It was based on my dad's design, and I'm definitely very proud of that. When I started racing, my dad's helmet design was very important to me. That was the helmet I really liked and which I'm very proud to wear," Verstappen explained.

The designs use the red and blue lines of the Dutch flag, kept nice and simple, allowing for the lion logo that has become a Max Verstappen identity.

"Absolutely, this is a kind of family design. A few details have been altered, but the basic essence is into the roots. I am completely pleased," he concluded.

Preparation for the Burden of the 2025 Season

With the pre-season testing looming, Verstappen is already orientated with his jet-setting life on the upcoming trials of 2025. The 2025 F1 roster is the most exhausting yet, with 24 races across 21 different nations. Success depends on balancing performance, endurance, and recovering.

Verstappen told Red Bull: "The season is very demanding, and they've added more locations and races over the years. So, it's very important to find your own time, to try to rest up and spend time with your family and friends.”

For Verstappen, Monaco remains a sanctuary where he can recharge and escape the sport’s relentless intensity. “Freedom for me is just being at home and not having to worry about doing the next thing on my schedule," he made this statement during an interview with AlphaTauri, the fashion label he represents as ambassador. "Monaco is the place I call home. It's where I can relax and do my own thing."

A New Era: Verstappen and Lawson Partnering Up

New beginnings commences for Red Bull Racing in 2025 with Verstappen partnered with Liam Lawson. Although Verstappen has remained as the team's clear figurehead, he welcomes the freshness that Lawson has to offer.

"I'm excited to be working with Liam. I think the whole team is excited," Verstappen told. "We had a lot of good moments last year and some tough moments, so I hope that we can be a little bit more stable this year."

A fifth world title for Verstappen in succession and regaining the Constructors Championship is the clearly defined desired outcome.

The 2025 season is shaping up to be an exciting and pivotal chapter in Max Verstappen's life. With this helmet design, the past is firmly rooted in family and ultimately directed toward the future.
