From Abhinav Bindra to Sachin Tendulkar to Gautam Gambhir: Sports fraternity lavishes praise on Manu Bhaker for historic medal at Paris Olympics

Manu Bhaker becomes the first Indian women's shooter to win a medal in the Olympics.

Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics 2024.

India's 22-year-old shooter Manu Bhaker created history by clinching a bronze medal in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. She becomes the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the history of the Olympics on July 28, Sunday in Paris. She clinched the bronze medal by a score of  221.7 and Korea's Kim Yeji claimed the silver with a total of 241.3 while her compatriot Jin Ye Oh bagged the gold with a Games record of 243.2.
 

Soon after Bhaker's win, the sports fraternity started praising the young shooter for her dedication and hard work before the Olympics. India's only Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra took his ‘X’ to praise the shooter. 

 

 

“Heartiest congratulations to Manu Bhaker for clinching the bronze medal in the air pistol event at Paris 2024! Your relentless dedication, hard work, and passion have truly paid off,” Bindra wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

 

“It's incredible to witness your skill and determination, bringing pride to India with each shot. This achievement is a testament to your perseverance and determination. Keep shining, Manu!,” he added.

 

Sachin Tendulkar for Manu Bhaker

 

India's cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar also praised Manu for her heroics in the summer Olympics. 

 

"Off the mark in the medal tally and on the mark with the shooting! Congratulations, @realmanubhaker, on bagging India's first medal at the Paris Olympics. After overcoming the heartbreak in Tokyo, you have shown immense strength & determination to win a bronze at #Paris2024, and made India proud" posted Sachin Tendulkar. 

 

Gautam Gambhir for Manu Bhaker

 

India head coach Gautam Gambhir who is currently in Sri Lanka with the cricket team also lavished praise on Manu Bhaker for her iconic bronze medal in the Paris Olympics 2024. 

 

“Congratulations #ManuBhaker on getting India’s first medal! You’ve made 🇮🇳 proud!” posted Gambhir.

Mohammed Shami for Manu Bhaker

 

India veteran speedster Mohammed Shami who is currently on the road to recovery has also taken his ‘X’ to praise Manu Bhaker for her heroics in the Paris Olympics 2024. 

 

“Hats off to #manubhaker for clinching India’s first medal at the Paris Olympics in 10m Air Pistol!” posted Shami.
