The upcoming edition of the Olympics will be hosted by Paris which is scheduled to start from July 26 to 11 August in 2024. In the history of the Olympic Games, India have won 35 medals. Out of these 35 medals, 16 have been bronze medals so far. India's first bronze medal came in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics in Men's bantamweight wrestling by KD Jadhav.
KD Jadhav
KD Jadhav was the first Indian who clinched a Bronze medal in the Olympics. He won the medal in Men's bantamweight wrestling in the games hosted by Helsinki in 1952.
Indian Hockey team 2 bronze medals
Indian hockey team were the second Indian and first in the team event to win the bronze medal in the history of the Olympics during the Mexico Olympics in 1968. They again won the bronze medal in the next edition of the Games which was hosted by Munich in 1972.
Leander Paes in 1996
Leander Peas clinched the bronze medal in Men's singles tennis at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. He is the only Indian till date who clinched a bronze medal in Men's singles tennis.
Karnam Malleswari
Karnam Malleswari clinched the fifth bronze medal for India in the history of the Olympics. She was the first female athlete to win a bronze medal for India. She achieved this feat during Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Vijender Singh
Boxer Vijender Singh was the first Indian pugilist who clinched the bronze medalist in the Olympics. He won the medal in Men's middleweight boxing during the Beijing Games in 2008.
Sushil Kumar
India wrestler Sushil Kumar clinched the bronze medal in the Beijing 2008 Olympics. It was India’s first Olympic medal in wrestling for 56 years.
Saina Nehwal
Saina Nehwal was the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal. She clinched the silver medal in London Olympics in 2012.
Mary Kom
Indian Pugilist clinched the bronze medal in Women's flyweight boxing in the London Olympics 2012.

Sakshi Malik
Sakshi Malik is the first female Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal. She won the bout against Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova 8-5 to clinch the silver medal in Rio Olympics in 2016.
Lovlina Borgohain
Lovlina Borgohain confirmed her Olympics medal after beating Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen in the quarter-final of women’s welterweight (64-69kg) in Tokyo Olympics 2020.
PV Sindhu
India badminton star PV Sindhu is the first Indian women athlete to win two individual Olympic medals. PV Sindhu beat China’s He Bing Jiao 21-13, 21-15 to win the bronze medal in the women’s singles.
Indian hockey team
India's hockey team won the Olympics medal after a long wait of 41 years after the 1980 Moscow Olympics. After being 3-1 down at one point, India made a big comeback to beat Germany 5-4 and claim the bronze medal.
Bajrang Punia
Bajrang Punia was the third Indian debutant to win a medal at Tokyo 2020. Indian wrestler Bajrang beat Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov in the men’s 65kg freestyle wrestling playoff to claim the bronze.
