Big News: India's star golfer, her mother met with road accident right ahead of match at Paris Olympics, rushed to hospital

Diksha Dagar will compete in her upcoming event.

Indian star golfer Diksha Dagar who is currently in Paris to represent the nation in the Olympics has met with an accident while travelling around the games village with her mother. This will be the second time that Diksha will represent India in the multinational event. She made her Olympics debut in the last edition of the games hosted by Tokyo during the coronavirus lockdown.

 

 

Diksha Dagar's accident

As per Sports Tak's exclusive report, She was travelling with her mother in a car, their car was hit from behind. Earlier, she was hospitalised with her mother. She is doing fine at this point of time and her mother is recovering from injury. The incident happened day before yesterday. All 4 members of the family were there. Mother has got a back injury because of the accident. Her brother has some minor scratches. But both Father and Daughter are absolutely fine.

Diksha Dagar's event

 

Dikhsha Dagar is fine and she will be seen in action on August 7. 

 

Interestingly, Diksha was a last-minute entry at Tokyo 2020 after South African golfer Paula Reto withdrew. At the Tokyo Olympics, Diksha finished T-50 and is focused on doing well in Paris.

 

“In Tokyo, I was happy just participating. It was a great experience, learning and motivation for me. For Paris, I am more committed and focused on performing well rather than just participating,” said Diksha.

 

She is currently placed 37th in the Olympic Golf Rankings (OGR) and is well-placed to obtain a quota for the Paris 2024 Olympics with the top 60 making the cut. Aditi Ashok is the best-placed Indian women’s golfer in the OGR at 25th.
