Nisha Dahiya, the first wrestler from India to appear on the wrestling mat in the Paris Olympics 2020, registered a resounding victory in the first round of the 68 kg freestyle event and took an 8-2 lead in the quarterfinals. Nisha thought that there were 33 seconds left in the match and if she was leading, she would save herself. But the Korean wrestler took advantage of this and won 10-8 till the last minute.
Nisha still alive in medal race
Nisha had defeated Tetiana Sova of Ukraine 6-4 in the first match. But she is not out of the Olympics yet. If the Korean wrestler who defeated Nisha goes to the finals, then Nisha will get a chance to come forward again in the repechage round. Talking about Nisha, her career has been full of turmoil. In the year 2022, she had an ACL injury in her knee, after this in the year 2023, her collar bone was broken and Nisha had to take bed rest for two months. However, Nisha did not give up despite this and qualified for Paris Olympics 2024.
