Paris Olympics 2024: Another heartbreak for India as Anant-Maheshwari duo lose Skeet shooting event's Bronze medal match by 1 point

This was India's final event in the Shooting games in Paris Olympics 2024.

India suffered yet another heartbreak as their skeet mixed team of Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Maheshwari Chauhan missed out on the bronze medal after losing the match against the Chinese duo of Yiting Jiang and Jianlin Lyu 44-43 in the ongoing edition of the Paris Olympics 2024, on Monday. They lost this match by just one point. Their valiant efforts were not enough to get another medal for India in shooting. So far the Indian contingent has won just three Bronze medals and all of them came in shooting. 

 

The Indian shooting duo of Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka on Monday qualified for the bronze award round in the skeet mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Indian duo competed against China for the bronze medal after accumulating 146 points in the qualifying rounds. However, this was the end of the road for them as they lost the Bronze medal match.

In the final, Maheshwari hit all four of her targets accurately in the first station while Anant missed one. In the second station, both of them made one miss each. Maheshwari missed one shot each in the third and fourth stations while Anant hit all the shots on target in the last four stations. Maheshwari also hit all four shots accurately in her last two stations. The Chinese pair hit all eight shots in the first station. But in the second station, Yiting missed three out of four shots, which caused both teams to become equal. There was a miss in the third station also but in the last three stations, both of them hit all the shots accurately and scored full points.
