July 30 was not a special day for Indian boxing in the ongoing edition of the Paris Olympics 2024. India got a double blow in boxing and after the defeat of a strong boxer like Amit Panghal in the first round, Jasmine Lamboria also got disappointed in women's boxing. Jasmine's first match was against 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Nesthy Petecio and Nesthy of Philippines showered heavy punches on Jasmine and started with a resounding 5-0 victory.

In the 57 kg boxing event, India's Jasmine could not perform in the ring in front of the Philippines' Nesthy Petecio. Nesthy threw strong punches in front of her in every round and did not give Jasmine a chance to counterattack. Due to this, the Indian boxer suffered a loss in every round and she had to face 0-5 defeat in the first Olympic match of her career.

Talking about Jasmine, she inherited boxing from her family. Jasmine's great-grandfather Hawa Singh had won gold medals in consecutive Asian Games in 1966 and 1970 and became the first Indian player to do so. Apart from this, Jasmine's uncle was also a boxer up to the national level. In this way, Jasmine started her journey while living in a boxing family, but Jasmine, who won the bronze medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, could not fulfill her dream of winning a medal in the Olympic Games this time

Apart from Jasmine, Amit Panghal, who won the silver medal for India in the 2019 World Championship, did not look good when he entered the ring of the Paris Olympics. Patrick Chinyemba of Zambia defeated him 4-1. With this, Panghal's journey also ended in the Round of 16.
