Why was Sen's first match deleted?

Despite starting his Paris Olympics 2024 campaign with a victory, 22-year-old Lakshya Sen, one of India's strong medal contenders, suffered a significant setback. Sen defeated Kevin Cordon of Guatemala in the men's singles match in Group L, winning 21-8, 22-20. However, the match has been "deleted" from the record books for the Paris Olympics in 2024. The match has been erased, in light of the fact that Cordon pulled out of the Paris Olympics 2024 after the misfortune. The Guatemalan shuttler experienced an elbow injury during the match. His two remaining games in the group stage won't take place.

With Cordon's withdrawal from the Paris Olympics 2024, Group L now consists of three players. Sen's one point in his first match won't count because according to BWF General Contest Guidelines, on the off chance that a player pulls out from the competition during the group stages, all past matches of player get naturally erased. Then again, the other two shuttlers in the group Belgium's Joel Carraggi and Indonesia's Jonatan Christie - will play two games each rather than three. This implies that Sen will wind up playing an additional match than Carraggi and Christie. Sen won his match against Caraggi on July 29 and now his last group stage match will be on July 31 against Christie.
