No medals came India's way on Day 8 of the Paris Olympics 2024 as several athletes missed out the chance by a whisker. India's shooting sensation Manu Bhaker could not make it three in a row and create history as she finished fourth in the Women's 25m Air Pistol final. Archer Deepika Kumari and boxer Nishant Dev's fight ended in the quarterfinal as well.

Bhaker who has won two bronze medals in 10m Air Pistol singles and mixed team events finished fourth after aggregating 28 points in a shoot-off. The 22-year-old had a chance to become first Indian to win three medals in a single edition or otherwise in Olympics history. She will return as independent India’s only athlete with two medals in a single edition of the Olympics.

On Day 2 of men's skeet qualification, Naruka Anant Jeet Singh managed 116 points after five rounds of qualification and finished at 24th place. He failed to make it to the final.

On Day 1 of women's skeet qualification, Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon scored 71 and 66 points respectively. Maheshwari finished eighth whereas Raiza was at 25th position. Maheshwari still has a chance to qualify as she will be in action on August 5. Only six shooters make it to the next round. Raiza is in contention too but is unlikely to make it to the top six.
