Paris Olympics: Mohamed Elsayed, an Egyptian Olympic wrestler, was arrested by French authorities early Friday morning on suspicion of sexual assault on the sidelines of Paris Olympics. The incident allegedly occurred outside a cafe in Paris. 

 

Egyptian Wrestler Arrested in Paris

 

According to the Paris prosecutor's office, Elsayed is accused of groping another customer's buttocks. An investigation into the matter has been initiated.

The Egyptian Olympic Committee has announced that Elsayed will face disciplinary action. If found guilty of the charges, he could face severe consequences, including a lifetime ban from competition. The committee revealed that Elsayed had been granted permission to attend the final wrestling competition in his weight category but failed to return to the Olympic village, subsequently switching off his phone.

Mohamed Elsayed, a 26-year-old Egyptian Olympic wrestler, was apprehended by Paris police early Friday morning. The arrest took place outside a cafe in the city's 13th district at around 5 am. According to the Paris prosecutor's office, Elsayed is accused of sexually assaulting a female patron by touching her buttocks.

 

French newspaper Le Parisien revealed that the wrestler was ‘roaring drunk’.
