Indian cricket team's batting maestro Virat Kohli had a special message for the Indian contingent which will be competing in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. The biggest extravaganza of sports will starts on July 26 and the whole world will get to see the best athletes across the globe trying to take on each other in order to gain the biggest sporting glory till August 11. Kohli posted a video message for the Indian athletes that surpassed everyone and will now represent India on the world's biggest sporting stage. The former Indian captain talked about India's glorious rise over the years and success across different aspects. He urged the whole nation to come out and fully support the heroes that will be carrying the Indian flag in Paris.

 

Virat Kohli's message for Indian athletes

 

"India, Bharat, Hindustan. There was a time when the world could only think of India as a land of snake charmers and elephants. Over time, that has changed. Today we are known to the world as the largest democracy. A global tech hub. We are known for cricket, for Bollywood, for start-up unicorns and as the fastest growing economy in the world," Kohli said in the video posted on social media.

"So, what is the next big thing for this great nation? Well, there will be more gold, more silver and more bronze. Our brothers and sisters are headed to Paris hungry for medals. A billion of us will be watching them nervous and excited as our athletes set foot on the track and fields and coats and things. Every neighbourhood, every corner of India, you will hear a chorus of voices chanting India, India, India! Join me in remembering their faces as they inch closer to the podium with the dogged determination of waving the Tiranga with pride," Kohli added. 

 

Indian athletes in the Paris Olympics

 

India has sent a total of 113 athletes which also includes 47 women athletes. They will be competing across 16 different sports disciplines in the Paris Olympics. Out of the total of 113 Paris-bound athletes, 26 are Khelo India athletes and 72 athletes have qualified for the Olympic Games for the first time.
