The current poster boy of Indian athletics and Tokyo Olympics gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra will be in action on August 25 (Friday) at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Chopra, who bagged a silver medal in the same competition in Eugene last year, would look to better his performance from last year and attempt a golden finish in Budapest. On Friday, the 25-year-old will participate in the qualification round along with two other Indian compatriots.
Chopra is placed in Group A along with Manu DP while Kishore Jena has been placed in Group B. There is a palpable amount of expectations from Chopra to at least secure a podium finish. Barring any setbacks, Chopra is likely to qualify for the final round and if he does so, he will compete for a medal on August 27 (Sunday).
