India were at the top of their form on Day 4 of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, with six medals coming in quick succession. Five of these came from shooting and one from sailing, taking the total tally for the country to 20.
Starting off the medals galore were shooters Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey and Manini Kaushik, who won the silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3P Team event. Then came the first of two golds, as Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan secured the top position in the Women's 25m Pistol Team event.
Sift Kaur secured another gold medal for India in the 50m Rifle 3P individual event, with Ashi Chouksey sealing Bronze as well.
Anant Jeet Singh, Gurjoat Siingh, Angad Vir secured the bronze in Men's Skeet Team event as well, just before Vishnu Saravanan won Bronze in the Men’s ILCA 7 event. This was their 20th medal in the competition — 5 Golds, 6 Silvers and 9 Bronze medals.
Meanwhile, China is leading the line in terms of medals, with 110 medals to their name. South Korea are coming in second with 56 medals, while Japan are third with 51 medals to their name. India are currently sixth on the overall medals tally list.
