At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, Indian players Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh had to be content with a bronze medal after being defeated by Malaysia's Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal. The match was challenging for the Indian pair, who lost with scores of 11-8, 2-11, 9-11 in a contest that lasted 39 minutes.
Even though they had a lead of 9-6 in the final game, India couldn't maintain it. Malaysia made a comeback by scoring five points in a row, ensuring their place in the final. On the same day, Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu showcased superior performance against their competitors from Hong Kong, guaranteeing at least a silver medal for India and moving on to the final round.
