India continues to shine at the ongoing Asian Games in archery, securing their seventh medal in the sport. The country's tally includes three coveted gold medals in the compound team events: mixed, women's, and men's categories.

The spotlight is currently on Abhishek Verma and Ojas Deotale, both of whom are on the path to make it an all-Indian final in the compound individual section. Their progression suggests a guaranteed medal, further enhancing India's performance in the competition. Similarly, Jyothi Surekha Vennam has made significant strides, reaching the women's compound individual final and ensuring at least a silver medal for India.

It's noteworthy that this achievement marks India's first medal in the Olympic archery category at the Asian Games since the Guangzhou 2010 games. Taking a trip down memory lane, the last occasion when India tasted success in the recurve category at the Asian Games was in 2010. Back then, the Indian archers clinched an individual silver and bronze medals in both the men's and women's team events.

In their journey this year, India showcased exceptional prowess by defeating fifth seed Japan with a score of 6-2 in the quarterfinals. Their bouts saw scores of 53-49, 56-54, 53-54, and 54-51. However, when pitted against the Tokyo Olympic champions South Korea, they managed to secure a set, eventually succumbing with a score of 2-6.

Overall, India's impressive performance in archery at the Asian Games underlines the country's growing dominance and potential in the sport.
