The Indian men's recurve team bagged a silver medal after going down fighting against a strong South Korean team at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou on October 6 (Friday). In a thrilling archery face-off, India's journey got off to a rocky start as Korea quickly took the lead, wrapping up the first set with a decisive 60-55 score. The Korean team, showcasing exemplary skills, managed to maintain their edge over the Indians, making it an uphill battle for the latter.

Despite the initial setback, the Indian trio, consisting of Atanu Das, Dhiraj Bommadevara, and Prabhakar Tushar Shelke, showcased resilience. They managed to match the Koreans shot-for-shot in the second set, finishing it at a 57-57 draw, thus trailing 3-1 on the scoreboard.

However, the Korean side, displaying world-class precision, escalated their performance in the third set. The formidable trio of Deok Je Kim, Jinhyek Oh, and Wooseok Lee narrowly edged out the Indians with a 56-55 score, securing a 5-1 match victory for Korea.

Despite this setback in archery, India held its ground in the overall Asian Games performance. The nation remains in a commendable fourth position in the overall medal standings, boasting a haul of 90 medals. This includes 21 glittering golds, 33 silvers, and 36 bronzes. The Indian contingent continues to strive for excellence, with hopes of elevating their position in the games' latter stages.
