The Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has granted interim bail to the disgraced Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the sexual harassment case against him. However, hearing on the regular bail has now been delayed by two days and will now be held on July 20. The court also granted interim bail to another accused in the case, Vinod Tomar. The interim bail was granted on a bail bond of ₹25,000 each.

Notably, the sidelined WFI chief has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women wrestlers. After protesting wrestler's persistent plea to Supreme Court to register an FIR against him, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was booked under section Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (making sexually coloured remarks), 354D (stalking) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was also charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, but the Delhi Police has since filed a cancellation report with regard to that offence.

Singh and Tomar appeared before the court in pursuance to the summons issued to them and sought bail in the case.
The former WFI chief has constantly pled his innocence in this regard, while very recently, the complainants alleged that the oversight panel that was formed in January to look into the accusations, was biased towards the WFI chief.

"Even after giving my statement before the (oversight) committee whenever I visited the Federation office, the accused looked at me with distasteful and lustful eyes and made wrong gestures which made me feel insecure," said one of the complainants.

"Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is innocent and the chargesheet filled against him is full of lies and is part of political conspiracy," said AP Singh, lawyer of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

Meanwhile, Magistrate HS Jaspal said he would hear the case next on Thursday.
