The fifth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) kick-started on January 30, 2023, and the competition will witness participation from nearly 6,000 athletes from across the country in 27 disciplines. The KIYG will be held at 23 venues across eight cities of Madhya Pradesh. The Games are being held in eight Madhya Pradesh cities - Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur Mandla, Balaghat and Khargone (Maheshwar) - while the cycling event will take place in Delhi, another official said.
A total of 303 international and 1,089 national officials will be part of the Games and nearly 2,000 volunteers will be deployed at different venues for hassle-free organization of the sporting event.

Information about Khelo India Youth Games:
The First Edition of Khelo India Youth Games was held on 31 January 2018 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi and the second was held in Pune, Maharashtra from 9 January to 20 January 2019 and the third Khelo India Youth Games from 18 January to 30 January 2020 Will be held in Guwahati till . This time the Games will be organized in partnership with the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), the Olympic Association (IOA) and Assam as the host state. The fourth edition of the event will be held in the year 2021. These games will be held in Panchkula after next year's Tokyo Olympics. Haryana will host the fourth season of 'Khelo India' Youth Games.
