Neeraj Chopra Classic is scheduled to take place at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

India's first-ever international Javelin competition, Neeraj Chopra Classic (NZC) is scheduled to take place at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on July 5, which will be organised by India's prestigious athlete Neeraj Chopra and JSW Sports and sanctioned by the Athletics Federation of India. 

The mega event was originally scheduled to take place in Haryana, but it was shifted to Bengaluru due to visibility issues, and later it was postponed because of border tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgham Terror attacks.  Holding the prestigious World Athletics Gold-level status, the Classic brought together elite global talent while firmly placing India on the world athletics stage. The recognition and the epic moment desired for India is finally turning true.  More than just a competition, it honoured Neeraj Chopra’s extraordinary journey and symbolised the rise of a new era in Indian track and field.

Indian Athletes

Neeraj Chopra: Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra had already carved his name into the history books as the first track and field athlete from India to win an Olympic gold. He had gone on to become the country’s first-ever world champion in senior athletics and also claimed the Diamond League title, another unprecedented feat for an Indian. His personal best stood at a remarkable 90.23m.
 
Sachin Yadav: Sachin holds a personal best of 85.16m. The Asian Championships silver medalist newly acquired gold medals at both the Federation Cup and the National Games this year.

Rohit Yadav: Rohit, a 24-year-old athlete, with an all-time high record of 83.40m won in 2023, had to undergo surgery that year and came back to the competition subsequently. He achieved a silver medal at the National Games 2025 with 80.47m. 

Sahil Silwal: He represents another potential standout talent in the 80m category, holding a best-ever performance of 81.81m from his gold-winning performance at last year’s National Inter-State Championships. He achieved third-stage podium at the Federation Cup with a 77.84m throw. He won the gold medal at the Winckelmann Games 2024 athletics meet in Germany with a 75.36m throw.

Yashvir Singh: Yashvir Singh has a personal best of 82.57m, which came at the 2025 Asian Championships in Gumi, Korea. Yashvir first came into the spotlight when he rewrote Neeraj Chopra’s U-20 Fed Cup meet record in 2021 with a 78.68m throw. 

Overseas Athletes

 

Thomas Rohler (Germany): Thomas Rohler from Germany is the 2016 Olympics champion and a sporting icon and a legend of sports. His top performance record is 93.90m as of now.

Julius Yego (Kenya): The athletic Kenyan player Yego, 2015 World champion and 2016 Olympic silver medalist, has been leading the way fir javelin’s rise in Africa. His best-ever performance is 92.72m.

Curtis Thompson (USA): Highest-ranked American javelin thrower Curtis Thompson has been the Pan American Games champion (2023) and a constant contributor and steady achiever at the Diamond League circuit with a top performance record of 87.76m.

Martin Konecny (Czech Republic): Czech Republic's 27-year-old javelin thrower, Martin Konecny, has established himself as a high-performance athlete in the javelin, with his personal outstanding performance of 80.59 meters, achieved in 2025. Konecny was a reliable performer in several international competitions, inclusive of the European Athletics Championships, where he was shortlisted for the final in 2022, finishing in 12th position. He is a prominent personality in Czech javelin throwing and has set his position repeatedly among the top performers in his country.

Luiz Mauricio Da Silva (Brazil): A South American skilled and energetic player with multiple podium landings at the South American Athletics Championships among many age categories. His best-ever performance is 86.62m.

Rumesh Pathirage (Sri Lanka): A bright shining star from the sub-continent, Pathirage set a new national record and achieved gold at the Asian Throwing Championships last year. His top performance record is 85.45m.

Cyprian Mrzygłod (Poland): The 27-year-old Polish performer, Cyprian, is the European U23 champion, chasing for the win of gold medal in 2019.  His best performance is 85.92 m set in Kuortane this year.
