WWE has confirmed that the 2025 Elimination Chamber premium live event will take place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on March 1, 2025. This marks an exciting return to Canada for one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, just a month after the Royal Rumble and ahead of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas on April 19-20, 2025.
The Fourth Consecutive Year Outside the U.S.
This year’s Elimination Chamber will be unique, as it continues WWE's recent trend of hosting major events outside the United States. It will be the fourth consecutive year that the Elimination Chamber takes place overseas. In the past, it has been held in Saudi Arabia (2022), Montreal, Canada (2023), and Perth, Australia (2024).
WWE’s Head of Creative, Triple H, expressed excitement about bringing Elimination Chamber to Toronto, highlighting the city's enthusiastic fanbase and rich WWE history. He said:
"Canada is an amazing place to host our biggest premium live events, with its passionate fans and rich history that spans decades. On the heels of a record-breaking Money in the Bank this past July, we are excited to return to Toronto for an even larger event in 2025."
Toronto: A Legendary WWE Destination
Toronto has long been a key location for WWE, having hosted some of the most memorable events in the company’s history. Notably, WrestleMania 6 and WrestleMania X8 were both held in Toronto, with the latter taking place at the Rogers Centre in 2002. More recently, the city has hosted major shows like Survivor Series 2016, SummerSlam 2019, and Money in the Bank 2024, all at the Scotiabank Arena.
Unlike those previous events, Elimination Chamber 2025 will be held at Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays, and one of the largest venues in the city. The stadium has a capacity of over 39,000 for baseball games, and it can hold even more for major events. Rogers Centre’s all-time attendance record was set during WrestleMania X8 in 2002, with over 68,000 fans packing the arena for the iconic show.
Elimination Chamber's Role Before WrestleMania
Typically, Elimination Chamber serves as the final premium live event before WrestleMania, with the event often featuring high-stakes matches, including the men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber contests. These matches usually involve world title opportunities or a shot at a WrestleMania title match. In 2024, for instance, Drew McIntyre and Becky Lynch won their respective Chamber matches to secure high-profile title bouts at WrestleMania 39.
With the 2025 edition being held in March, the event promises to play a significant role in shaping the matchups and storylines for WrestleMania. It will undoubtedly influence the final card and could provide the last major twists in WWE’s road to the biggest event of the year.
