Novak Djokovic will be playing against Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud will lock horns against Alexander Zverev in the semi finals of Roland Garros 2023. Roger Federer has retired from the sport and Rafael Nadal will be playing his last competitive season in 2024, the last of that era is Djokovic, who will feature in the semis of the French Open 2023. It is a passing of the torch phase in the sport of Tennis.

Novak Djokovic, who is currently playing in the French Open 2023 has said a controversial statement which was written in Serb. The translation of that text was Kosovo is a part of Serbia. This has caused a massive problem. He did this because of two reasons which are, his father is from Kosovo and he wanted to show support to Serbs as some of them were expelled from their home district.

<p>Novak Djokovic stormed into the history books as he trounced Casper Ruud in straight sets to clinch the French Open title on Sunday (June 11). With this triumph, Djokovic has busted Rafael Nadal's all-time record as he won his 23rd Grand Slam title. Notably, this was Djokovic's third French Open title. The ‘Djokosmash’ – the one notorious weakness in his otherwise complete game – made far too many appearances as he missed numerous overheads. Ruud quickly took an early 3-0 lead.</p><p>The benefit of being Novak Djokovic, though, is that he always has options. Djokovic dug in and he relied on his legs as he soaked up a series of stinging Ruud forehands before drawing out an overhead error from Ruud to retrieve the break.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>But Ruud persisted and continued his fightback. He took everyone by surprise when he led 5-4 with Djokovic serving. Ruud opened the game with some inspirational play, including a successful tweener lob to lead 0-30. But at 5-4, 30-30, Ruud gifted a forehand error on an easy second serve return. Sensing Ruud’s nerves, Djokovic pounced. He held serve, he forced a tiebreak and then he picked Ruud’s weak backhand apart to take the set.</p><p>By the second set, the Serb’s nerves had evaporated as the weight of the task ahead of Ruud became clear. Djokovic dictated from inside the baseline, pulverising his forehand, and he continued to methodically break down Ruud’s backhand as he neutralised the Norwegian’s serve. Djokovic controlled the contest until the end, patiently waiting for his moment to clinch the decisive break late in the third set before closing out one of the greatest successes of his career.</p><p><br>The 36-year-old from Serbia also broke Nadal’s record as the oldest French Open singles champion. <p>Novak Djokovic beat Casper Ruud with a scoreline of 7-6 (1), 6-3, 7-5 in Sunday’s final at Roland Garros. In doing so, the Serbian has now set the record for the most Grand Slam singles trophies won by a man, having finally gone past Rafael Nadal's 22. Roger Federer, who announced his retirement last year, is third on the list with 20.</p><p>Among the women, Margaret Court leads the way with 24, some earned during the sport's amateur era, while Serena Williams finished her career in the 2022 season with 23, the most in the Open era.</p><p>Here is a look at each of Djokovic's major championships so far — 10 at the Australian Open, seven at Wimbledon, three at the U.S. Open and now three at the French Open.</p><h3>2008 Australian Open Final&nbsp;<br>He beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (2). On the way, he eliminated Roger Federer in the semifinals, then didn't face a break point in the second or third sets against Tsonga, before saving one in the fourth.</h3><p>What He Said: “I'm very, very happy that I won my first Grand Slam here, so hopefully we'll see you here on this stage a lot more often.”</p><h3>2011 Australian Open Final<br>He beat Andy Murray 6-4, 6-2, 6-3. He broke to end the first set with the help of a 38-stroke point exchange. Before the tournament, his rivals' Grand Slam counts looked like this: Federer with 16, Rafael Nadal with nine.</h3><p>What He Said: “I don't want to fly up to the sky and say, I am the best,' or whatever. I cannot compare to Rafa and Roger's success.”</p><h3>2011 Wimbledon Final<br>He beat Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. He also became the first player other than Federer to defeat Nadal in a Slam final and replaced Nadal at No. 1 in the rankings.</h3><p>What He Said: “This is what I'm made for: I want to win. I'm a professional. I want to win more majors, more titles. Obviously, the U.S. Open is the next big thing.”</p><h3>2011 US Open Final<br>Once again beat Nadal, this time 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-1. He overcame a two-set deficit, then two match points, to eliminate Federer in the semifinals, then defeated Nadal across 4 hours, 10 minutes in the final. That made Djokovic 10-1 against those two opponents that season.</h3><p>What He Said: “There is a lot more to prove, a lot more tournaments to win.”</p><h3>2012 Australian Open Final<br>Another loss for Nadal: 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5. He came out on top in a 5-hour, 53-minute marathon that was so exhausting, both men were given chairs to sit in during the trophy ceremony.</h3><p>What He Said: “I tried mentally to hang in there, to hold my composure, to hold my emotions.”</p><h3>2013 Australian Open Final&nbsp;<br>He beat Murray 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-2 and became the first man with three consecutive Australian Open titles in the professional era, which began in 1968.</h3><p>What He Said: “I have no reason not to be confident in myself.”</p><h3>2014 Wimbledon Final<br>He beat Federer 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-4 and denied Federer what would have been a record eighth championship at the All England Club.</h3><p>What He Said: “I managed to not just win against my opponent, but win against myself, as well, and find that inner strength.”</p><h3>2015 Australian Open Final<br>Djokovic beat Murray 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-0. He rebounded from a quarterfinal exit the year before in Melbourne Park.</h3><p>What He Said: "It was a cat-and-mouse fight. I couldn't pick a better place, to be honest, in the tennis world to peak and to make a comeback.”</p><h3>2018 US Open Final<br>He beat Juan Martin Del Potro 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3 and pulled even with his idol, Pete Sampras, at 14 major titles.</h3><p>What He Said: “Maybe 10 years ago, I would say I'm not so happy to be part of this era with Nadal and Federer. Actually, today I am. I really am. I feel like these guys ... have made me the player I am.”</p><h3>2019 Australian Open Final<br>Djokovic defeated Nadal 6-3, 6-2, 6-3, thoroughly dominating Nadal, compiling 34 winners and making just nine unforced errors.</h3><p>What He Said: “Under the circumstances, it was truly a perfect match.”</p><h3>2019 Wimbledon Final</h3><p>He beat Federer 7-6 (5), 1-6, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 13-12 (3), saving two championship points at 8-7 in the fifth set, then won the first Wimbledon final to go to a fifth-set tiebreaker.</p><p>What He Said: “Unfortunately in these kinds of matches, one of the players has to lose.
