Iga Swiatek’s performance recently has not been up to the mark. The tennis star, who dropped to No. 3 after the second spot in WTA was taken by Elena Rybakina, suffered another shocking loss, and this time, in Miami. 

The Polish star was beaten by World No. 50 Magda Linette at the Miami Open on Thursday, which made her open up about her struggles on the court lately. Her opponent camerom a set down to beat the six-time major champion. 

Tennis makes Iga Swiatek ‘complicated’ amid her recent struggles

Swiatek, after the first round exit from Miami, stated that she “stopped doing anything well tactically.” The player agreed that she was bad in the second and third sets. Swiatek revealed that she needs to ‘work’ to return to her form. She said:

“I haven't felt things like that for like five years.”

Swiatek added that she will try to figure out what she has been doing wrong to get back to her best and “get something positive” from practices. The Pole continued: 

"Tennis feels complicated in my head. I know it's supposed to be simple. In terms of my mentality ​and how I feel on court, it's going ⁠to take a while."

The 24-year-old also had a bad run at the Indian Wells Masters 2026, where she suffered a three-set defeat to Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals.
