Wimbledon Womens Doubles 2022

The Indo-Croatian duo of Sania Mirza and Mate Pavic rolled in to the mixed doubles' quarter-finals at the Wimbledon on Sunday (July 3).&nbsp;The sixth seeded pair of Mirza and Pavic reached the mixed doubles quarter-finals after their second round opponents Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan gave a walkover.&nbsp;Mirza and Pavic had beaten Spain's David Vega Hernandez and Georgia's Natela Dzalamidze 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (3) in the first round.&nbsp;In their last-eight match, Mirza and Pavic will face either the Brazilian duo of Bruno Soares and Beatriz Haddad Maia or the Australian-Canadian pair of John Peers and Gabriela Dabrowski.&nbsp;Mirza, who has already announced her retirement at the end of this season, and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka had earlier lost in the opening round of women's doubles event.&nbsp;Mirza is a three-time former quarter-finalist in mixed doubles at Wimbledon. She had reached the last eight in 2011, 2013, and 2015. Mirza is competing in her last edition of Wimbledon. The 35-year-old will bid adieu to the sport after this season.Sania is the most successful female tennis player from India. She is a three-time champion in women's doubles (Wimbledon and US Open in 2015; 2016 Australian Open). Mirza is also a three-time winner in mixed doubles (2009 AO, 2012 French Open, and 2014 US Open). She emerged as the first Indian woman to hold the number one ranking (either singles or doubles).&nbsp;Earlier, in a video footage uploaded on the official Twitter handle of Championships, Mirza said she is going to miss Wimbledon but it's time to move on.&nbsp;"There are things in life which take priority over playing tennis matches and I am at that stage now," she said.
