Finn Balor has another chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship, as he is set to face CM Punk at the Elimination Chamber. The Prince faced The Second City Saint on the January 19 episode of Monday Night RAW in Belfast, Ireland.
However, Balor faced defeat in front of his crowd. To seek revenge, the Irish star will aim to dethrone Punk in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. This time, The Prince may find success in his quest to become the World Heavyweight Champion, thanks to AJ Styles.
The Phenomenal One left the in-ring competition after losing to Gunther in a Career-Threatening Match at the Royal Rumble, but he can still take part in the story between Balor and Punk.
Styles could appear in Chicago and interfere in the World Heavyweight Championship match. If he does, fans may quickly assume Styles would cost Balor the match, since the Irish star sabotaged his title chance against Punk on RAW before the Royal Rumble.
However, in a surprising event, The Phenomenal One could help The Prince win the World Title. While Balor and Styles have been arch-rivals on screen, the two have a great friendship off-screen.
Finn Balor's emotional message to AJ Styles after his retirement
AJ Styles appeared on Stephanie McMahon's What's your story? podcast following his retirement. During the episode, Stephanie played a montage of several WWE stars paying tribute to The Phenomenal One.
One of them was Finn Balor, who was on the edge of tearing up while talking about Styles. Here's what The Prince had to say about the icon.
"I feel so happy for him that he's able to retire with his health, and AJ, I just want to say congratulations on such an incredible career. From a personal standpoint, I want to say thank you because you've always been such a constant source of inspiration for me. I know we've had very similar career paths, but I hope you know that I've always, always looked up to you. For me, you're the benchmark for what it is to be a professional both inside and outside the ring. I'm very grateful that I got the opportunity to share the last ten years with you here in this company... I want to say thank you for being AJ Styles."
It remains to be seen if Finn Balor can walk out of Chicago as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
