John Cena ruined Rusev's life?
Rusev will be fighting Damien Priest in the first round of the "Last Time is Now" tournament. The winner of the tournament will go on to fight John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13.
Ahead of his fight against The Archer of Infamy, Rusev posted a video online and claimed that Cena had ruined his life when he defeated him at WWE WrestleMania 31.
"That man gave the biggest loss of my career, not just in my professional wrestling career, but in my life career in general. My life was ruined because that man beat me at WrestleMania when I had that tank, my wife, and the whole world on top of me," said Rusev.
He then said that getting to beat Cena in the icon's final match would mean that he would get his life and his pride back.
"So what would it mean? It would mean that I would get my life back, my pride back, and everything that he took from me, I will get it back! So, Cena, I am coming for you!" he added.
Cena has not been in action since his win over AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025.
John Cena's dad reacts to his win at WWE Crown Jewel
John Cena Sr. recently shared his thoughts on the legend's win against AJ Styles last month at Crown Jewel 2025.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, Cena Sr, said that new wrestlers needed to learn ring psychology. He suggested that they watch the match between Cena and Styles at Crown Jewel to learn how it was done.
"The one thing that they learned, and the young people need to learn in this business, is ring psychology. They read their crowd, and they performed to what the crowd wanted. You notice they didn't stop. They listened. And when they did, they just went bang, bang, bang. They work so well together, so well together. And I think that's so important in this business," John Cena Sr. said.
Cena won the undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41, but lost the title back to Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025. It will be interesting to see what Cena has to say tonight on WWE RAW in his hometown.
