In the latest edition of SmackDown, a 31-year-old star has issued a warning to John Cena on SmackDown. Only three dates are left from John Cena's retirement tour, and the newly crowned Intercontinental champion will have his last-ever fight in Washington.
Carmelo Hayes issues warning to John Cena
The Last Time is Now tournament will decide his final opponent. The tournament kicked off on RAW with Sheamus and Rusev reaching the next round. The matches continued this week on SmackDown, and more have been lined-up for next Friday.
One of the fights will see The Vision's Bronson Reed locking horns with Carmelo Hayes in a first-round clash. During a backstage segment on SmackDown, Hayes addressed his ongoing storyline with The Miz and then turned his focus to John Cena.
"John Cena. The GOAT. The Last Time is Now Tournament, you got a long line full of heavy hitters, killers, all want to be the one that’s going to put you down, all want to be the one that’s going to hang your jersey from the rafters, and respectfully, John, I’m one of them. 50% of people might overlook me; 50% of people might know that I can get the job done. But 100% of me knows that if I get that shot, I won’t miss," he said.
Hayes was interrupted by Bronson Reed, who told him that he would finish his career before finishing Cena's career.
