CM Punks dropped his thoughts on a WWE retirement that could happen this weekend at Royal Rumble 2026 in Saudi Arabia. The Second City Saint defended his World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles in the main event of last night's edition of WWE RAW.
The Judgement Day's Finn Balor interfered in the fight and hit Punk with several Coup de Graces. AJ Styles is set to fight Gunther at Royal Rumble this weekend with his career on the line.
Following the fight, the World Heavyweight Champion was interviewed backstage and said that the stakes were too high for Style at the PLE this Saturday. He mentioned that it is tough to imagine both Styles and Cena within the period of two months.
"I've been in the ring with Gunther, and I can, without ego, say I beat Gunther. But I don't feel like I beat him, I feel like I survived. So for AJ to be able to pull this out, I don't know. The stakes are just too high. I don't like it, and I don't like to think about it. We just saw John Cena retire, and it's hard to fathom that in a two-month span, we're losing John Cena and AJ Styles," he said.
CM Punk defeated The Ring General at WWE SummerSlam 2025 to become World Heavyweight Champion. However, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Punk after the fight to win the title.
CM Punks sends a message to Dominik Mysterio
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk recently shared some harsh words to Dominik Myesterio.
Mysterio is the current Intercontinental Champion but is currently out of action because of an injury. Punk battled AJ Lee on the recent episode of first We Feast's Hot Ones Versus and made it known how he felt about the Judgement Day Star.
"F*** Dominik Mysterio," he said.
The former AEW star defeated Finn Balor last week on WWE RAW to defend the World Heavyweight Championship. It will be fascinating to see what the company has planned for the rivalry between CM Punk and Finn Balor moving forward.
