Goldberg slams WWE over Asuka breaking his undefeated streak.

Asuka responds calmly to Goldberg’s criticism about her record.

Former WWE star and Hall of Famer Goldberg recently took a dig at the company. He was seemingly disappointed with how the creative team booked Asuka.

Goldberg fires shot at WWE

During a recent interview, the WCW icon said that WWE possibly had some issues with him. He said that this was why they booked Asuka to overtake his winning streak during her dominant run in NXT and on the main squad. He said that WWE booked "some girl" to break his 173-0 undefeated streak and bury his legacy.

During a recent edition of Jim Cornette's Drive Thru, the veteran asked why Goldberg was sad. He noted that no fan would ever confuse the WCW icon's  winning streak with Asuka's run in NXT. Cornette also mentioned that winning streaks were always part of the business, dating back to when legendary wrestler Lou Thesz was the champion for about eight years without losing to anybody.

"So was it the win streak? I mean, I don't know what they did with Asuka? Okay, but she's fighting girls. Is anybody gonna confuse that with Goldberg's win streak, that was the hot thing for a period of time in the Monday Night Wars? Does he realize that The Sheik had a streak in Toronto? For seven years, he never lost, and he sold in that time, about three or four million tickets. I think there's a streak going back to I don't know, Lou Thesz was the champion for eight years. He didn't do a lot of jobs, did he? What is he on about?"

Asuka appears unbothered by Goldberg's allegations

WWE star Asuka took to social media to make her side clear on the issue.

The Empress of Tomorrow said that she emphasised creativity and beauty in her craft. She said that her true goal is to create comments, redefine eras in wrestling, and not chase records or titles.

Asuka is a known start of the RAW roster and is currently starting a story arc with the Women's tag team champions Chalotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
