Gunther claimed that he is facing real-life heat in WWE after his win against John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. John Cena tapped out to The Ring General this past Saturday night in the final fight of his legendary career.
Speaking on TMZ's Inside the Ring Podcast, the veteran discussed some people being upset that he submitted Cena in his final fight. The former champion said that there were people in WWE angry about how Cena's career finished and challenged them to do something about it.
"I know a lot of people were not happy with what happened on Saturday and how it happened. I know a lot of people in the company were not happy with that, but that is fine. If anyone has got an issue with that, I think I am very easy to find," he said.
The former leader of Imperium mocked fans this past Monday night on WWE RW and flexed about forcing Cena to tap out. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce kicked the 38-year-old out of the building after his controversial promo.
Vince Russo raises questions on WWE's plans for Gunther
Wrestling icon Vince Russo recently expressed his thoughts on the rumors that Gunther would be retiring Brock Lesnar from in-ring competition next year.
Appearing on The Coach and Bro show, Russo noted that the former Intercontinental Champion faced a defeat against Sami Zayn in the past and suggested that he disqualified him as a serious challenge to Brock Lesnar. The Beast was in action during Men's WarGames fight at Survivor Series 2025, and his team emerged victorious.
"What would possess you to think that Gunther can beat Brock Lesnar when he lost to Sami Zayn? Like, seriously, the guy lost to Sami Zayn. He's going to beat Brock Lesnar? The guy lost to Jey Uso. He's going to beat Brock Lesnar? In what universe is that going to happen?" he said.
Triple H was booed by fans after John Cena tapped out in his final fight. It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned out for Gunther in weeks ahead on RAW.
