Story Highlights:

Ryder returned to WWE TV for the first time in over seven years, competing as Zack Ryder in the 'Last Time is Now' tournament.

Cena announced that his next bout at MSG will be his last RAW match, closing a 23-year chapter with 544 RAW appearances.

Only three dates are left from John Cena's retirement tour, and the newly crowned Intercontinental champion will have his last-ever fight in Washington. Meanwhile, the 48-year-old icon reacted to a big return on the latest edition of SmackDown.

In April 2018, Zack Ryder, also known as Matt Cardena, had his last fight on the blue brand under Vince McMahon's regime. While Broski performed for the WWE until 2020, he did not appear on the blue brand and focused on Monday Night RAW and Main Event.

Ryder's comeback to the WWE

After his release from the company in 2020, Ryder spent his time on the independent circuit, working as Matt Cardona across several promotions. On the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Cardona made a comeback to the promotion as Zack Ryder for the first time in over seven years as LA Knight's opponent in the 'Last Time is Now' tournament.

While the 40-year-old player received an amazing ovation during his entrance, the multi-time Tag Team Champion did not reach further in the tournament, as he lost to The Megastar.

Later John Cena reacted to the blue brand under his former character and shared a pictured from the show on his Instagram.

John Cena confirms last-ever WWE RAW match

John Cena confirmed that his upcoming appearance in Madison Square Garden will be his last RAW appearance as an in-ring performer. Moreover, the newly crowned Intercontinental champion said that he will compete on the upcoming show, which will be his last.

"Over 23 years you’ve allowed me to have 544 matches on #WWERaw. The most in WWE history. My favorite match.. is my next one! Which will be our LAST ONE! Don’t miss our last chance to grace @TheGarden ring as we say farewell to RAW live, Monday night on @netflix at 8pm ET," Cena tweeted on X.
