Story Highlights:

Seth Rollins admitted he felt terrible after breaking John Cena’s nose during a knee strike on RAW, calling Cena a “champ” for powering through the match.

Rollins said he was glad Cena retired on his own terms after a farewell tour that included a historic 17th world title win.

WWE legend John Cena recently concluded his in-ring career spanning over two decades. He faced Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, 2025.

For over 20 years, John Cena showed up as the face of WWE. The Cenation Leader helped grow the business and became the company's top babyface. He had fond memorable rivalries with top WWE starts and dominated the main event scene for years. The star wrapped up his career in 2025 with a year-long farewell tour.

In an exclusive interview with GQ, Seth Rollins spoke about the time he inadvertently broke Cena's nose. He mentioned catching the star in the face with a knee strike and seeing a lot of blood. Seth explained that John received it like a champ, beating him down for the rest of the fight, and eventually won the encounter. The Visionary was happy that Cena got his nose fixed without any issues.

"That's me. I did that. I broke his nose, and I felt horrible about it. I love John. Pretty early on in a match on Monday Night RAW, many, many years ago, I caught him in the knee, square in the nose. I felt it crunch, right in there, and there was a lot of blood. Then he came raging out of the corner like a crazy person and beat the bejesus out of me, unfortunately. I lost a lot of John to be fair." He added, "John knows the best people, got his nose fixed. Looks great."
