WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus posted an emotional tribute to John Cena today and also appreciated a former champion as a leader of the locker room. Cena tapped out to Gunther in his retirement fight at Saturday Night's Main Event over the weekend.
Trish Stratus was present for Cena's final fight and mentioned today on her Instagram that it was a great experience. She said that John Cena was a "once-in-a-generation superstar" and also claimed that Bayley was a true leader of women's wrestling.
"What a way to say good-bye to a once in a generation Superstar like @johncena Loved being able to sit in the crowd for that and also to watch @itsmebayley - a true leader of women’s wrestling for her match against @solrvca. What an incredible match! Cant wait to see what’s next from both. Also .. sitting in the crowd really is the best seat in the house. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a whole show from that side and wow what a feeling to watch the Superstars up close and to feel the energy of the crowd. Loved every minute. What a night!" wrote Stratus.
Stratus hasn't competed in a fight since her defeat to Tiffany Stratton at Elimination Chamber 2025.
Trish Stratus opens up on her recent WWE comeback
WWE icon Trish Stratus recently expressed her thoughts on her return to the promotion earlier this year.
In an interview with Bill Apter on 1WrestlingVideo, Stratus mentioned that the company barely promoted WWE Evolution 2025 and was thankful that she already had an ongoing storyline with Tiffany Stratton at the time.
“Fans are like, ‘they haven't even promoted Evolution.’ I was saying the same thing. I'm like, I don't know, do people care? Luckily, Tiffany and I had a built-in storyline. Kind of had been percolating for like a year, and people were sort of seeing the friendship, but then, ooh, are they going to turn? And all that sort of thing, which was kind of fun. So I was like, I don't know, I don't really have a big storyline, and maybe I'll just do it another time," she said.
Only time will tell if Trish Stratus returns to WWE for another fight down the line.
