Story Highlights:

CM Punk amused fans by sneaking out of the ring while The Usos and Cody Rhodes led post-show celebrations.

The World Heavyweight Champion now turns focus to a major title defense against Bron Breakker on the January 5 edition of RAW.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk closely avoided an uncomfortable situation in the ring this week. The WWE star was present for the television tapings before the holidays.

Punk has been a well known face on the WWE roster since making his comeback in 2023. The star won the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event back in November. The title was vacated after Seth Rollins's injury, and he defeated jey Uso to secure the gold.

WWE was recording episodes for the upcoming week's SmackDown this Friday. Following the show, The Usos and Cody Rhodes were in the ring addressing the fans. Punk was also present in the ring. But when the baby faces started singing songs for the fans, The Best in the World slowly slipped away.

It was a funny moment for the fans and stars as  Punk quietly slithered off with a smile on his fans. In fact, The Usos even called him to join the group and sing Christmas carols with them.

CM Punk has a big challenge coming up

After Bron Breakker defeated CM Punk at WarGames, he has been making a case for a title fight against the Champion. Paul Heyman worked out the details with RAW general manager Adam Pearce and set up a huge title defense for Punk on the January 5 edition of RAW.

CM Punk has to bring his top game against a tough opponent like Breakker. The Best in the World experienced Bron's raw strength when the second generation star speared him in the ring this past Monday night. Punk was distracted by Austin Theory revealing himself as the masked man and did not see the challenger come in.

It will be interesting to see if the Straightedge star can retain the title on the first Netflix anniversary edition of RAW on January 5.
