Story Highlights:

Barkley is managing knee soreness but is expected to feature against his former team on Thursday night.

Multiple starters were limited or sidelined in Monday’s estimated report, raising concerns for the Eagles’ short-week preparations.

Philadelphia Eagles have been dealt an injury scare ahead of their Thursday night showdown against the New York Giants, as star running back Saquon Barkley and left guard Landon Dickerson were both added to the team’s injury report on Monday.

The update comes just days after the Eagles’ narrow Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos, leaving fans anxious about the health of some key offensive pieces as the team looks to bounce back.

Barkley listed with knee injury but expected to play

Barkley, who joined the Eagles in the offseason, was listed on Monday’s estimated injury report with a knee injury. While the team didn’t hold an official practice session, the report provided insight into the star running back’s current condition.

According to NFL Network, Barkley is dealing with general soreness following the physical contest against Denver but is expected to suit up on Thursday when the Eagles face his former team, the Giants.

The 2025 season hasn’t been quite as explosive as Saquon Barkley’s historic 2024 campaign. Through five games, the 27-year-old has rushed for 267 yards and four total touchdowns, averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Despite the dip in efficiency, his presence remains crucial to the Eagles’ offensive rhythm.

Dickerson’s injury woes continue

Left guard Landon Dickerson was also a notable addition to the report, listed with an ankle injury. Dickerson and tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) were both marked as non-participants in Monday’s estimation.

Dickerson’s injury history has been a recurring concern this season. After undergoing meniscus surgery in August, he returned in time for the season opener but has since battled multiple setbacks, including back and lower-body issues. The latest ankle concern only adds to the uncertainty surrounding the Eagles’ offensive line depth heading into Week 6.

Calcaterra’s status is also worth monitoring, as his absence could impact the Eagles’ tight end rotation and special teams coverage.

Other injury updates for the Eagles

Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell (biceps) and defensive tackle Byron Young (triceps) were both listed as limited participants, suggesting that their availability for Thursday will depend on how they respond during the week.

Meanwhile, linebacker Nakobe Dean, who recently returned to practice after a stint on injured reserve, was marked as a full participant — a positive sign for the Eagles’ defensive depth.

As Philadelphia sits at 4-1, the health of key contributors like Saquon Barkley and Dickerson could play a decisive role in maintaining their early-season momentum. Facing the Giants on a short week, head coach Nick Sirianni will likely prioritize recovery and depth management to ensure his team remains competitive against a divisional rival eager to spoil their strong start.
