Kayla Nicole had a very awkward moment when she was asked about her ex-boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his engagement to global icon Taylor Swift. It was her first public outing since the celebrated engagement and it seemingly did not go well. At the House of Champion event, during a red-carpet interview with the Daily Mail, she reacted, 'Oh, no, no, no,' while looking at the other side, as per a report by the Daily Mail. She further continued:

‘But I'm really happy to be here at Champion, though! This is a dope party.'

Nicole and the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player started dating back in 2017 before they called it quits after five years, following an on-again, off-again relationship. On the other hand, Kelce and Swift’s big news was announced late last month, two years after they began dating. The famed engagement post read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

After her red-carpet moment where she nearly avoided questions about her former boyfriend’s engagement to the Anti-Hero singer, she exclusively spoke to PEOPLE about the lessons she has learned after her breakup with the three-time Super Bowl champion. Kayla told PEOPLE:

“So if I don't allow it to affect me, it simply won't.”

The on-air reporter further told the aforementioned source:

"You know what I mean? Sometimes on social media, we think that it's the whole world, and it's really not. "It's an app with a couple of 100,000 million people, but you're in control of the narrative, honestly, and if something is holding you, bogging you down, turn it off," Nicole continues. "Delete the app, log off. That's my biggest advice."

Meanwhile, the Chiefs lost their season-opener to the Los Angeles Chargers and will next be facing the Philadelphia Eagles as they enter the second week of the NFL season.
