Story Highlights:

Luke McCaffrey placed on injured reserve after breaking his collarbone against Seattle.

Jayden Daniels and Marshon Lattimore also suffered major injuries in Commanders’ Week 9 loss.

Washington Commanders wide receiver Luke McCaffrey suffered a broken collarbone in the team's Week 9 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

McCaffrey was hit hard in the right shoulder and landed awkwardly on his left side while returning the ball during the game's kickoff. It was confirmed that he has a fractured collarbone, and he is set to be placed on injured reserve.

One day after suffering the injury, McCaffrey posted a series of pictures on Instagram, getting supportive messages, including from NBA star Kevin Durant.

"Get well soon, brother. Preciate what you do for us," Durant wrote.

Durant grew up in the D.C. area and is a supporter of the Commanders. He previously said that he wants to be a part of the ownership team and has shown interest in the team. Durant also attended practices as a fan.

McCaffrey, picked up by the Washington in the third-round pick in 2024, has 11 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns in eight matches this season. Chris Moore and Jaylin Lane will likely play more on offense in his absence.

Luke McCaffrey was not the only Commanders player who picked up what is likely to be a season-ending injury during Sunday's defeat to the Seahawks. The team did not played well, but its injury situation got bad.

Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow in the fourth quarter of the game and is expected to stay on the sidelines for long-term.

Daniels was first thought to have picked up an elbow fracture, which would have held him out of the remainder of the season. However, it was confirmed that he avoided a bone fracture. The dislocated elbow diagnosis is still serious and could keep him out for up to 10 weeks, depending on the seriousness of ligament damage.

Experienced cornerback Marshon Lattimore tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. He was part of trade rumors before getting injured.

Other Commanders players also exited the game due to injuries, including cornerback try Amos, who left twice because of a hip issue.
