Story Highlights:

Smith points to Mike Vrabel’s coaching and Stefon Diggs’ dominant first meeting as reasons New England holds the edge.

Diggs has quickly formed a strong connection with rookie QB Drake Maye, posting 705 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Josh Allen's Buffalo Bill will lock horns with the New England Patriots in Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. While Allen and co. are very close to reaching the playoff, they are behind the Patriots in the AFC East.

Ahead of the Patriots-Bills clash, expert Stephen A. Smith has expressed his views on why New England is the favorite, having beaten Buffalo earlier in the season. Smith also remembered how Patriots wideout Stefo Diggs played against his former team in that clash.

"You can't help but respect (Patriots HC) Mike Vrabel," Smith said on "First Take" on Wednesday. "I think he's the coach of the year right now ... but I will say this about Buffalo, should the Bills be favored on the road? I was inclined to say yes, because of Josh Allen, and then I remembered something.12 targets, 10 receptions, 146 yards receiving, Stefon Diggs, former Buffalo Bill, now in New England ... Nah, I can't put the Buffalo Bills as the favorites in this one.

Stefon Diggs played with Allen at Buffalo for four years from 2020 . The duo led the Bills to win four AFC East titles.

Diggs played last season for the Houston Texans. He signed with the Patriots this season and has been a crucial player for their attack.

Diggs has created a strong bond with Patriots QB Drake Maye. The wideout has 705 yards and three touchdowns on 64 receptions.
