For the first 24 hours after giving birth, Kylie Kelce’s fourth baby girl remained nameless. The wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce recently shared the journey behind choosing the perfect name for their newest addition—Finnley Anne Kelce.
A Deliberate Pause Before Naming Baby No. 4
It might come as a surprise that Kylie Kelce and Jason Kelce, who are already parents to three daughters, took an entire day before settling on a name for their fourth child. Kylie, in her characteristic candid style, explained,
“For the first 24 hours of her life, she did not have a name. We had discussed names with anyone that we could trust to not share names. We didn’t go with a single option that we had been discussing.”
She added a lighthearted disclaimer before revealing the name, addressing those who might take issue with its spelling. “All the people who are gonna be triggered by the fact that this name does not have two Ts, I warned you, it was a journey.”
The Name Finnley Anne Kelce: A Meaningful Choice
Finally, after much deliberation, they decided on Finnley Anne Kelce. Kylie revealed on her self-titled podcast that the name Finn had been a strong contender for their third daughter but was ultimately passed over.
“The name Finn was not one of the names that we were discussing with other people. But it came back around because it was a serious contender for Elliotte’s name.”
Given that the couple has now named four daughters, they revisited previous name ideas. “Considering we had to name four children with the same gender, we had to run it back to the archives and borrow one from a different child. And that’s what we did.”
A Middle Name Steeped in Family Tradition
The middle name Anne carries deep familial significance for Kylie. She shared, “Her middle name is Anne. A-N-N-E. The people in our lives that are associated with the name Anne with an E would be my Dad’s Mom, that was her first name, my sister’s middle name, my cousin’s middle name, my other cousin’s middle name, and Annie Elliotte is actually Anne. We packed it all into one middle name, and I felt good about that.”
By choosing Anne, Kylie and Jason honored multiple family members, making the name even more special.
A Look at the Kelce Family’s Growing Roster
Finnley Anne joins three older sisters:
- Wyatt Elizabeth (5 years old)
- Elliotte Ray (4 years old)
- Bennett Llewellyn (2 years old)
With all four daughters’ names carefully chosen, Kylie emphasized that she does not concern herself with outside opinions regarding their choices. Their journey to selecting Finnley’s name may have taken an extra 24 hours, but for the Kelce family, it was well worth the wait.
