Story Highlights:

Cam Skattebo will miss four to six months after ankle surgery but remains active around the Giants’ facility.

Jaxson Dart called Skattebo the team’s “energy guy,” praising his commitment and continued leadership off the field.

Jaxson Dart is very happy to have Cam Skattebo back at the New York Giants' facility after his serious injury. The rookie running back was sent off the field in the Week 8 clash against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday after buckling his ankle while grabbing a catch.

In his media availability on Wednesday, Dart expressed his thoughts on having Skattebo around in the team's facility  despite the fact that he is set to remain on the sidelines for a longer duration. The running back will be out of action for four to six months after a successful surgery.

“That was good,” Dart said. “I think that's kind of just how he is. Like, he's going to hate sitting at home and whatnot, so I'm sure he'll be around here a lot. It's good to see his face.”

The Giants are set to miss Cam Skattebo's key production on the offense, which has seen him register 410 yards and five touchdowns in 101 carries this season. However, Jaxson Dart is pretty confident about the team's bench strength.

“Other guys just kind of have to pick it up,” Dart said. “That's just the name of it. It's just that it'll be a little different about them out there, just yelling and whatnot. But we got some new guys in the building, so we're going to pick up.”

Jaxson Dart reflects on the impact of Cam Skattebo's presence

Without any doubt, Cam Skattebo has brought waves of energy to the team this season, which has been pivotal in getting things done. Jaxson Dart appreciated his personality and commitment towards the team after being questioned what impact his presence in the facility brings to the team.

“He's just that energy guy,” Dart said. “Obviously, he's down with kind of what happened, his injury and whatnot. At the same time, he's a great teammate. He wants all the guys around to succeed. I don't really expect much differently from him as a person.

“At the same time, he's going to be a continual leader because we have conversations all the time. We feel we’re going to be here for a very long time. That's kind of the impact he brings to the table, and he wants to be consistent with that.”

The bond between Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo has helped to improve the outcomes of the New York giants after a tough start to the season. The two rookies have helped light up the offense, and it's  to be seen how they survive without the running back.
