Patrick Mahomes update on Rashee Rice

The wide receiver was on the receiving end as he took several hits throughout the season. The likes of Marquise Brown, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore and Rice were all missing time during last season or even missing the entire campaign due to injuries.

Rice managed to play only four games during the 2024 season as he got injured during Week 4 clash against Los Angeles Chargers. Prior to the game he got injured, he had strong 12-reception, 110-yard and one-touchdown to his name against the Atlanta Falcons.

Ever since the injuries sustained by the key players, it wasn't the same for the Chiefs. Even though they secured a spot in the Super Bowl, but the absence of certain crucial players hurt them as Philadelphia Eagles took their revenge and won the iconic title.

As the OTAs are underway, Mahomes has provided positive health update on Rashee Rice. During the media duties on Thursday, Mahomes used two words to describe Rice 'explosive and fast', per reporter Pete Sweeney.

Not just this, Sweeney also mentioned that Rice was under the weather as Andy Reid kept him away from the whole squad. But, during his involvement, he left a positive mark. Rashee Rice was just a rookie when he took over and became Cheifs' WR1. They have depth in the position but having him back is great news for the fans and the team. In 2024 season, Rice managed to post 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns.

Patrick Mahomes on Travis Kelce's retirement rumors

During the same media duties, Mahomes spoke of the possibility of seeing Travis Kelce suit up for his last and final season with the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran quarterback feels that the Kelce is ready for another season.

If it's the last ride, you'd never know, Mahomes said. The way he's talking about football, the way he’s talking about working, trying to be even better this year than he was last year -- it doesn't seem like a guy that it’s his last ride, like he’s tired of the job.

The Chiefs will look to take revenge of their Super Bowl defeat earlier this year and things have already started to fall in place for them before the start of the new season.
