Philadelphia Eagles Lane Johnson recently revealed till when he wishes to keep on playing in the National Football League (NFL) ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl 59 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the big strengths for the Eagles has been their offensive lines as they are the best in the sport when it comes to this. Johnson has been with the Eagles since being the fourth-overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

I'm definitely not retiring after this game [Super Bowl 2025]. I'm definitely playing next year, Johnson said.
Johnson has two more seasons remaining on a one-year deal extension that he signed ahead of the 2023 season in addition to his three-year deal. He has a whopping $80.75 million contract overall. He has a cap hit of $17.412 million next season and has a 30.383 million dead cap hit. In 2026, he will have a cap hit of $22.439 million but a dead cap of $19.984 according to Spotrac.

How important is Lane Johnson to the Philadelphia Eagles?
Lane Johnson has immensely contributed in the success of the Eagles. He has been like a pillar throughout the season, playing at least 15 games in the last three seasons and being an All-Pro in the previous four.
Johnson looks after the edge for the offence to get going, often lined up across from the edge rusher and limiting the damage. Being regarded as one of the best pass-blockers, he makes sure quarterback Jalen Hurts gets time to let plays develop downfield. On top of it, he further allows Hurts to create running lanes for guys such as Saquon Barkley in order to break a run out to the outside.
It will be tough to replace somebody like Lane Johnson for the Eagles but that is something that they don't have to worry about this offseason.
