Trey Smith Opens Up on Meeting Taylor Swift
Chiefs guard Trey Smith recently spoke about his early impression of Swift, offering warm praise for the pop superstar’s humility and kindness. Appearing on the “New Rory and Mal” show, Smith reflected on meeting her for the first time, calling the experience “super normal.”
“Not at all, man,” Smith said when asked if Swift’s presence changed the locker room vibe. “Like, honestly, it just was super normal, you know, being able to meet her early on and just talking to her.”
‘She’s Thoughtful, She’s Kind’
Smith didn’t hold back when speaking about Swift’s character. What stood out most to the 25-year-old wasn’t her fame or status, but her thoughtfulness and genuine nature.
“I think once you meet her as a human being, a person face-to-face and sort of understand her, you realize, like, man, she really is a beautiful human being. She’s awesome. She’s super nice. She’s thoughtful. She’s kind, you know. When she remembered my name, my sister’s name after meeting us like months later, like that, that meant a lot, you know, just a small thing.”
Realizing Taylor’s Stardom
Interestingly, Smith admitted he hadn’t fully grasped how famous Swift was until she began showing up to games and interacting with the team.
“And for me, I didn’t know how big of a deal Taylor Swift was, how big of a star she is until she got there and I started realizing…but the biggest thing with Taylor is how nice of a person she is.”
Chiefs Family Turns Swiftie
Smith isn’t the only one in Kansas City to be won over by Swift’s charm. Former Chiefs return specialist Dante Hall also shared his admiration for the singer in an earlier interview with *TMZ*.
“She is so down to earth,” Hall remarked. “She’s super witty. Super engaging, and just one hell of a human being. To be the most popular person on planet earth, to be that humble and that down to earth, I walked away being an ultimate Swiftie.”
