Thomas managed just 707 yards and two scores in 2025.

Jacksonville could explore a trade, citing depth with Travis Hunter and Jakobi Meyers.

Brian Thomas Jr. has essentially become a one-season player in the league after making a strong impression during his impressive rookie year in 2024. His performance in the second season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, however, has been disappointing, raising doubts about his future with the team.

Brian Thomas Jr.'s second season was quite different from his rookie year

In 2024, as a rookie, he caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. But in the 2025 season, he only managed to catch 48 passes for 707 yards and two touchdowns.

Analyst Aaron Schatz suggests that the Jaguars should consider trading Thomas, given his contract worth $14,659,978.

"Jacksonville has Travis Hunter returning, and they've signed Jakobi Meyers to an extension," Schatz wrote. Parker Washington also had a strong second half of the 2025 season.

"There's room here to trade Thomas, and his talent could fetch a high draft pick to help make up for the picks the Jags lost when they traded up for Hunter in 2025. It's certainly something worth considering."

Thomas has been a subject of trade talks since the last trade deadline, but the Jaguars have not pursued any trade options so far.
