During the National League Championship Series (NLCS) Game 3 vs the New York Mets, the star player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani stepped to the plate with two runners on, one in scoring position and the other one out.

Ohtani had a great chance to extend the four-run lead and take the game further away from the Mets' reach. All he needed was a sacrifice fly, but the Japanese International hit a three-run home run to ace the game.

What did the Ex-Yankees legend say about Shohei Ohtani?

After Ohtani's three-run home run, reactions came from the baseball world including one from the New York Yankees legend Roger Clemens. He reacted with two words after what Ohtani had achieved on the pitch. He said, "Good Grief."

The three-run home run in the eighth ended all chances for the Mets and gave the Dodgers a crucial 2-1 lead in the NLCS. Game 4 will take place on Friday, 18th October. Ohtani's performance is one of the major reasons where the team sees itself at this point but he was struggling before the home run.

I have no idea why people are talking about Shohei: Mookie Betts

In the postseason, Ohtani was 0/19 with bases empty. Being the leadoff hitter, he has struggled to do anything without runners on base. When the runners are on base, Ohtani tends to hit well. He started the postseason on a high with 6/8 with RISP and added another hit to his name.

But the streak of 0/21 continued. His teammate, Mookie Betts is not a fan of the criticism Ohtani is facing and said via Major League Baseball (MLB) that he didn't understand that.

"I have no idea why people are talking about Shohei. He’s the best player on the field every day. Oh, he hasn’t got a hit with nobody on. Who cares? It’s Shohei Ohtani. Everybody knows who he is every time he steps in the box. Everybody is expecting something to happen," Betts said.

"That’s the problem. He’s done it so many times that you expect it. He’s a human for 20 at-bats. It’s Shohei Ohtani," Betts concluded.
