According to head coach JJ Redick, the team will start the same five players who went in the last season.

He also indicated that Bronny James, the team's rookie draft pick, will likely spend time in the G League during the upcoming season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are poised to enter the 2024-25 NBA season with a familiar starting lineup. According to head coach JJ Redick, the team will start the same five players who went in the last season.

Starting Five

In the latest episode of "The Lowe Post," Redick revealed that LeBron James, Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura will form the Lakers' starting unit. This quintet played exceptionally well together towards the end of the 2023-24 season, revitalizing the team and leading them to several victories over playoff-bound opponents like the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The decision to start this lineup is somewhat surprising considering the Lakers' playoff struggles last season. Russell's performance in the playoffs was a major disappointment, raising questions about his suitability as a starter. Additionally, Hachimura has limited starting experience with the team.

However, Redick's confidence in this lineup is likely based on the team's strong chemistry and on-court performance during their late-season run. The Lakers' success with this starting five suggests that they believe it is the best option for the team moving forward.

The Lakers' starting lineup will be a significant factor in their success this season. With a talented group of players and a coach who clearly believes in them, the Lakers have the potential to make a deep playoff run.

On Lebron and Bronny Together

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has indicated that Bronny James, the team's rookie draft pick, will likely spend time in the G League during the upcoming season. In an appearance on The Lowe Post podcast, Redick suggested that the 19-year-old will need to refine his game before getting consistent playing time in the NBA.

“I think Bronny is a young guy. I am very high on him as a basketball player and I said this at his press conference I said he is kinda like our first player that we get to mold and help develop. So we're going to look at the G-League as a tool in our player development system,” said Reddick.

If Bronny James takes the court alongside his father, LeBron James, at any point during the season, they will become the first father-son duo to play in the same NBA game. While Redick didn't provide specific details about the Lakers' plans for Bronny, he did emphasize the importance of developing his skills in the G League to prepare him for the challenges of the NBA.
