Jalen Brunson’s arrival with the New York Knicks transformed the team into a prominent contender in the Eastern Conference during the 2023-24 season. Brunson's impact has earned him a special place in the hearts of New Yorkers. Beyond his impressive performances on the court, he has also made waves off it. Brunson hosts the "Roommates Show" podcast alongside teammate Josh Hart and co-host Matt Hillman.
During a recent episode/block party filming at Central Park on Saturday evening, fans began chanting Joel Embiid’s name, which led to Hart encouraging the crowd to keep it up. Although the reason behind the chants remains unclear, it is likely connected to the ongoing rivalry between the Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers.
“F**k Embiid”
As the chants broke out Hart was seen gesturing the crowd to continue chanting Joel Embiid's name. The chants were not surprising as Philadelphia enjoyed a rivalry against the Knicks.

Both the teams met in the first round of the 2023-204 NBA playoffs where Jalen Brunson's Knicks defeated Embiid and Sixers. New York won 4-2. Brunson stood out in the series with 9.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds in 43.8 minutes averaging 35.5 points.
Embid too had a good series averaging 33.0 points with 10.8 rebounds.1.5 blocks and 5.7 assists. The valiant effort seemed too little as he couldn't take the team to victory.
Jalen Brunson also got MVP chants from the crowd at Central Park during the filming of the podcast episode. Brunson was not able to finish in top 3 of 2023-2024 MVP voting but he did get votes finishing fifth with 142 points. Nikola Jokic won the MVP award, his third with 926 points.
According to DraftKings Jalen Brunson is currently tied for seventh-best odds at +1,800 alongside Jayson Tatum to win 2024-2025 MVP award.
While Brunson is currently no the favorite but considering Knick's rise in the East his eye on the Michael Jordan Trophy is increasing and the dream can become reality in Central Park next year.
