Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler ruled out, testing Warriors’ depth.

Young players like Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody set for expanded roles.

Golden State Warriors enter their matchup against Oklahoma City Thunder facing one of the most challenging scenarios of the season.

With injuries, rest protocols, and roster uncertainty piling up, the Warriors’ ability to compete effectively is under serious scrutiny as they aim to make another title push in the waning years of Steph Curry’s career.

Through 34 games this season, Golden State has yet to see a fully healthy lineup, and that trend continues as they prepare for Friday night’s contest against Oklahoma City.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the team will be without three cornerstone players—Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green—for the game.

Injury report compounds Warriors’ challenges

The absence of Curry, Green, and Butler adds significant pressure on Golden State Warriors’ remaining roster. Curry, who was initially listed as questionable with an ankle issue, has now been officially ruled out. Green is sitting out due to rest as part of a back-to-back schedule against the Thunder and then the Utah Jazz. Butler, meanwhile, is sidelined with an undisclosed illness after being listed as doubtful.

The Warriors’ injury report doesn’t end there. Both L.J. Cryer (back strain) and Seth Curry (sciatic nerve issue) are ruled out for the Thunder game.

De’Anthony Melton, recovering from a torn ACL earlier this season, is listed as questionable and remains limited in appearances, having played only ten games so far.

Meanwhile, Al Horford and Trayce Jackson-Davis are listed as probable. Horford has confirmed that he will not play back-to-backs for the remainder of his career, meaning that even if he suits up against Oklahoma City Thunder, he likely won’t appear against Utah. Jackson-Davis is managing patellar tendinitis in his right knee but has not missed time due to the injury.

Roster shifts and player roles

With Golden State Warriors’ star trio unavailable, the burden falls on younger players and supporting veterans to carry extended roles.

Jonathan Kuminga is expected to suit up, along with Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Quinten Post, Buddy Hield, Pat Spencer, and rookie Will Richard.

These players will see expanded minutes and responsibilities, providing critical support as Golden State navigates its depleted roster.

Kuminga’s future remains a subject of speculation, with trade rumors circulating after a challenging year. His performance against the Thunder will be closely watched, as the Warriors lean on him and other role players to keep the team competitive in Steph Curry’s absence.

What this means for the Warriors vs. Thunder

Golden State faces a crucial test against Oklahoma City with multiple key contributors sidelined. The team’s depth and ability to adapt will be under the microscope, with every possession and defensive stop magnified.

Oklahoma City Thunder could capitalize on Golden State Warriors’ weakened lineup, making execution, energy, and strategic adjustments critical if Golden State hopes to emerge with a victory.
