Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City CHiefs faced a 31-28 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Week 13 of the 2025 NFL season. It was Kansas City's sixth defeat of the season, which worked as another damage to their hopes of making the playoffs. Although the Chiefs are still in consideration to make the postseason, they might not be able to afford another defeat in the last stretch of the regular season.
On Wednesday, Detroit Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown was questioned about the Chiefs' fading playoff hopes on his podcast, but suggested Mahomes and co. can still turn the tables.
"It's not cooked for the Chiefs until it's cooked, so they're still in it," St. Brown said (3:18). "They're not ruled out of the playoffs yet. So, until they're ruled out of the playoffs, don't rule them out because of who they have at quarterback, their winning history, they know how to win games.
"They've won games in the past. They might not be winning as many games this season, but they've still won some games this season. So, and it's not like they're getting blown out. They're losing close games, a bunch of close games. So, no, to answer your question, no, they're not cooked."
Mahomes has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowls in the past six seasons, winning six of them. Kansas City was on road to complete a historic three-peat of Super Bowl victories, but was restricted by the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat the Chiefs in the big game in February.
Although, the Chiefs are now at risk of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
